About Us

Jake B.

I am a Freshman at Michigan State University. My hobbies include baseball, golf, fishing, and hiking. I love to be outdoors, this love is the reason why I picked the major Fisheries and Wildlife. This major offers a few different options in specialization. A person can either specialize in fish, mammals, or many different forms of management. There are many levels of the department of FW, state, federal, and private companies. I personally want to use my major to become a wildlife biologist and track mammal migrations and changes in population.
I would like to consider myself a good student. As a senior in high school I dual enrolled in my local community college. I took advantage of my high school paying for classes and received 26 credits. Because of this I will be a sophomore at the end of my first semester at MSU. While I was dual enrolled I made the Dean's list for both semesters.
I will be the first to admit I am not the strongest writer. My thoughts tend to get jumbled and my sentences start to ramble on. However this is not for everything. When it comes to putting information in a piece I tend to excel.

I am also a freshman at Michigan State University, very excited to be a Spartan. I grew up in a small town in north western Ohio, and am still living there today. Coming from a very small high school to a university as big as MSU was an adjustment, but I am enjoying being here. Some activities I enjoy include dance and playing basketball for fun. I danced for 15 years of my life and played basketball up through my freshman year of high school. Although I have a strong interest in dance, my passion lies in animals. For that reason, I have chosen to major in animal science, which is a part of the college of agriculture and natural resources. With this major, I am hoping to eventually make my way up to working in a zoo or an aquarium training animals. There is nothing that interests me more than caring for animals and being around them.
As a student, I consider myself very average. In high school, I was ranked somewhere around the middle of everyone in my class. I did what I needed to do to excel and I always tried to push myself. I am hoping to do the same thing now that I am in college. My knowledge on the topic of writing could use some work, but I will eventually get to where I need to be.

Tyler Lahusky

My name is Tyler Lahusky and I am currently a college student at Michigan State University. I was born in the Suburbs of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, before immediately moving to the outskirts of Battle Creek, Michigan where I spent my childhood. Since my kindergarten years, all the way through graduation, I attended a rural school district just outside of my hometown. During my freshman year of high school, I was selected to join a select group of students from numerous school districts to attend a mathematics and science center for elite schooling in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Ending my senior year of high school, I held an internship at Denso Manufacturing Michigan Incorporated for mechanical engineering, which pointed me in the direction of my future career in engineering. During all this, I have worked on a dairy farm for five years, which helped me to develop a drive for my interests and introduced me to a passion for the outdoors, adventure, farming, and agriculture. This love for agriculture and engineering led me to Michigan State University, where I am currently a freshman student majoring in both mechanical and agricultural engineering.
